Programme Overview

The Food Productivity Specialist Training Programme (FPS) is a new and completely revamped programme with refreshed and up to date curriculum and materials. It is designed primarily for food services practitioners and professionals who are keen to deepen their capability to lead and manage productivity improvements in their organisation or to pursue a productivity consultancy career specialized in food services. This programme builds on the foundation of four successful runs of the Certified Productivity Consultant (CPC) Training Programme with a total of 90 graduates since 2013. The FPS is supported by SPRING Singapore aims to train and equip participants with the competencies to support and facilitate the productivity upgrading efforts of companies in the food services sector. Participants who successfully complete the programme will be jointly certified by the Singapore Productivity Centre and Japan Productivity Center (JPC).

Singapore Productivity Centre (SGPC) is a national competency centre to help drive enterprise productivity for sustained growth and competitiveness. It focuses on Retail, F&B and Hotel sectors, and is supported by the National Productivity Council, SPRING Singapore and Singapore Tourism Board.

JPC is the lead national productivity organisation in Japan and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) network. As one of the forerunners in productivity, JPC has extensive experience in delivering consultancy services across sectors and sizes of companies. It has also been conducting productivity consultancy training courses since 1958.

Programme Objectives:
At the end of this Programme, the participants will be able to:
• Review and diagnose the company’s business model
• Diagnose the company’s performance and usage of technologies
• Perform analysis of the company’s critical factor for success
• Provide solutions using appropriate tools and techniques
• Sustain the company’s productivity performance (productivity level and growth rate)

Programme Outline
The Programme comprises of:
• Classroom sessions
• Two consultancy projects in local food services companies

Target Audience
This Programme is targeted at food services practitioners and professionals who are keen to deepen their capability to lead and manage productivity improvements in their organization or to pursue a productivity consultancy career specialized in food services.

Programme Structure
This 3-month part time Programme is organised into 5 distinct Modules as follows:

Module 1: Develop Capability in Productivity Consulting
• Overview of Singapore’s Food Services Sector: Opportunities & Challenges
• Productivity Concepts and Framework
• Consulting Framework and Process
• Reporting Formats and Documentation

Module 2: Enhance Domain Knowledge in the Food Sectors
• Latest Food Services Trends: Innovation and breakthrough
• Learn Successful Business Model and Practices in Japan? Food Services Sector
• Strategies and Meal Solutions
• New Kitchen Equipment and Information System Solution

Module 3: Develop Consulting Capability
• One consultancy project in a food company

Module 4: Enhance Knowledge & Skills in Food Productivity Framework, Methodology, Tools & Techniques
• Strategies and Actions (QSC, PVA and STP)
• Menu Concept: Planning, Analysis and Development
• Financial Analysis Framework (KPI Management)
• Productivity Framework: Process, Consulting and Solution

Module 5: Develop Consulting Capability II
• 2nd consultancy project in a local food company
